Celebrities and Weight Loss
Whilst all of us  can benefit from eating more healthily, and most of us could probably do with losing a few pounds or so as well, there are a number of recent examples of celebrities who have lost an amazing amount of weight.

Jennifer Hudson, the British TV star and singer, is one very recent example. She managed to drop 5 dress sizes after following a Weight Watchers diet. She is now one of the diet company's most famous spokeswomen following her astonishing weight loss.

TV star Holly Madison lost an incredible 19 pounds in 18 months following her diet.  Her secret?  Pilates and Yoga and a low-carb diet, and ditching the bagels for protein bars.

Alec Baldwin, the movie star, lost 30 pounds in 4 months after being diagnosed as pre-diabetic.  Cutting out sugar completely, a battle according to Baldwin, and spending more time on his pilates and spinning exercise helped him achieve the incredible weight loss.

Mariah Carey, put on 30 pounds following her pregnancy with her twins, and, like most new mothers in that situation, wanted to lose the pounds. However, rather than follow any specific kind of plan or diet, she simply began a healthy programme that not only helps lose weight, but helps reduce the risk of heart disease.

Jonah Hill, the American movie star who appeared alongside Brad Pitt in Moneyball, enlisted the help of a nutritionist to help him manage his weight.  Following their advice on what to eat, and what not to eat, Hill was able to maintain his shape with great success.

Ricki Lake, the Dancing With Me star, was able to lose a reported 20 pounds due to her following the food delivery programme Freshology, and its 1400 calories a day diet plan. Lake herself, however, reckons the weight loss was down to exercise rather than the programme.

Whilst celebrities losing weight might be more newsworthy than the rest of us, it's something all of us should think about.
